Machine Head – “Struck a Nerve” Live in Wacken 2009

“Struck a Nerve” is one of my most favorite heavy metal songs, taken from Machine Head’s 2nd studio album “The More Things Change…” (Roadrunner, 1997).

What a incredible performance it is!! Machine Head made thousands of audience get the blood pumping rapidly at Wacken Open Air in 2009. This song contains all elements of modern heavy metal, very fast speed, aggression, heaviness and so on. Dave Mcclain’s drumming is really intense.

Machine Head was formed in Oakland, California in 1991 by Robb Flynn and Adam Duce. After the tour with their debut album “Burn My Eyes”(Roadrunner 1995), The oroginal drummer Chris Kontos left the band, Dave Mcclain replaced him. Until leaving of Adam Duce in Feb 2013, Robb, Adam and Dave created many awesome songs constantly.

Lyrics

Give me power to end all of the strife
Courage to kill the pro life
I don’t want to see, you can’t change me
You tell me not to bow, follow for now
You’re oh so holier than thou

The more things change
The more they stay same
The more things change
The more they stay same
The more things change
The more they stay the same

Give me patience to deal with all the strain
Balance to take the fuckin’ pain
I don’t want to fake and I won’t break
We’re too happy to be in our apathy
We smile single file to the line

The more things change
The more they stay same
The more things change
The more they stay same
The more things change
The more they stay the same

So c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon
We gotta wake up
You don’t know you’re right or wrong
We gotta wake up
So c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon
We gotta wake up
You don’t know you’re right or wrong
We gotta wake up
So c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon
We gotta wake up
You don’t know you’re right or wrong
We gotta wake up
So c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon
We gotta wake up
You don’t know you’re right or wrong
Wrong
