Nightwish – “Waiking In The Air” Live in Tempere 2000

Nightwish performed “Walking in the Air” at Pakkahuone Club in Tempere, 2000. This song is written by Howard Blake for the animation film “Snowman” (1982, original picture book written by Raymond Briggs in 1978). We can listen to this cover version of Nightwish on their second studio album “Oceanborn” (Century Media, 1999). Tarja Turunen was on vocal at that time.

We’re walking in the air
We’re floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly

I’m holding very tight
I’m riding in the midnight blue
I’m finding I can fly so high above with you

Far across the world
The villages go by like trees
The rivers and the hills
The forests and the streams

Children gaze open mouth
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes

We’re surfing in the air
We’re swimming in the frozen sky
We’re drifting over icy
Mountains floating by

Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep

We’re walking in the air
We’re floating in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly

I’m holding very tight
I’m riding in the midnight blue
I’m finding I can fly so high above with you
Written by Howard Blake

Corey Taylor – “X-M@$”

“X-M@$” is first single of Slipknot and Stonesour frontman Corey Taylor. He wrote this song for The Teenage Cancer Trust in 2010. Taylor clarified on YouTube that the song was just a joke about people who don’t enjoy Christmas. He personally loves Christmas especially due to the fact he gets to see his extended family but finds the frustration of people who don’t like it to be hilarious.

This sound source can be downloaded from Roadrunner Records page on Soundcloud.

Ho Ho Ho Ho!

There ain’t nothing more depressing than a pine tree
Gussied up candy canes and balls
Those carolers have kept me up for hours
It’s Merry Christmas seeping through my walls
Now I’m no wiccan commie or nothing
But there’s one damn holiday that I can’t stand
It ain’t Halloween or Thanksgiving or even April Fools
But it’ll surely make a fool out of every man

If I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
You know where to stick those jingle bells
If I ain’t hammered it ain’t hanukkah
And all you motherfuckers go to hell
If I ain’t cockeyed then it Kwanzaa
Joy to the world and jack and coke
If I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
Cause I never anything but broke

Now every year the malls are just a madhouse
Full of empty pockets, thoughts and smiles
Just the smell of Eggnog makes me vomit
And those colored lights are fucking infantile
I think we collectively as the people
Should rise against this corporate jolly noise
And tell the world:
“Let’s buy some piece and quiet for a change”
Before we spend it all on fucking toys.

So if I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
You know where to stick those jingle bells
If I ain’t hammered it ain’t hanukkah
Fa la la la la go fuck yourself!
If I ain’t cockeyed it ain’t Kwanzaa
Joy to the world of getting stoned
If I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
So leave this god damn scrooge the fuck alone.

Korn – “Kidnap the Sandy Claws”

This song is taken from “Nightmare Revisited” (Walt Disney, 2008), which is a cover album of songs from the Tim Burton’s film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993).

I wanna do it

Let’s draw straws

jack said we should work together
Three of a kind

Birds of a feather
Now and forever
La, la, la, la, la
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, lock him up real tight
Throw away the key and then
Turn off all the lights

First, we’re going to set some bait
Inside a nasty trap and wait
When he comes a-sniffing we will
Snap the trap and close the gate

Wait! I’ve got a better plan
To catch this big red lobster man
Let’s pop him in a boiling pot
And when he’s done we’II butter him up

Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Throw him in a box
Bury him for ninety years
Then see if he talks

Then Mr. Oogie Boogie Man
Can take the whole thing over then
He’II be so pleased, I do declare
That he will cook him rare

I say that we take a cannon
Aim it at his door
And then knock three times
And when he answers
Sandy Claws will be no more

You’re so stupid, think now
lf we blow him up to smithereens
We may lose some pieces
And then jack will beat us black and green

Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Tie him in a bag
Throw him in the ocean
Then, see if he is sad

Because Mr. Oogie Boogie is the meanest guy
lf I were on his Boogie list, I’d get out of town

He’II be so pleased by our success
That he’II reward us too, I bet

Perhaps he’II make his special brew
Of snake and spider stew
We’re his little henchmen and
We take our job with pride
We do our best to please him
And stay on his good side

I wish my cohorts weren’t so dumb

I’m not the dumb one

You’re no fun

Shut up

Make me

I’ve got something, listen now
This one is real good, you’II see
We’II send a present to his door
Upon there’II be a note to read
Now, in the box we’II wait and hide
Until his curiosity entices him to look inside

And then we’II have him
One, two, three

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick
Lock him up for ninety years, see what
makes him tick
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, chop him into bits
Mr. Oogie Boogie is sure to get his kicks
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, see what we will see
Lock him in a cage and then, throw away the
